Twig Wreath

After doing  Mar's Sea Wreath Tutorial
[Unfortunately this site is closed]
I was playing around making all kind of wreaths.
One of my favorites is a twig wreath I had made,
so I decided to write a tutorial on how I made mine.

This tutorial was done with PSP9   
but could be done with other versions.

All of my tutorials are written following the steps I used to make my graphic.   
It is my hope that you will take what I provide 
and do your own thing with it. 

 

YOU WILL NEED

Paint Shop Pro - 
Download a trial version 
MuRa's Meister/ Copies Unfortunately MuRa has closed her website, however her terms allow sharing of her filters
Basic knowledge of vectors and layers

Remember to SaveOften
STEPS - These are the steps I used.


Drag the arrow to mark your place

1.

Lets Begin

New Image  175x250
File/Save As: twig.pspimage

2.

 Draw A Branch

  #967c57
NULL

Pen Tool [V]
Mode: Draw Freehand
Tracking: 10
Connect Segments: Not Checked
Create On Vector: Checked
Show Nodes: Checked
Line Style: +Solid
Width: 5.00
Anti-alias: Checked

Draw the main branch

Click Apply

Change Line Width to 4.00
Draw a few more branches

Click Apply

Change Line Width to 3.00
Draw a few more branches

Click Apply

Change Line Width to 2.00
Draw a few more branches

You may need to Change the Mode to: Edit and zoom in some to move nodes that didn't connect to the branch

Layers/ Convert To Raster Layer

Effects/ 3D Effects/ Inner Bevel
Bevel : #1
Width: 31
Smoothness: 8
Depth: 8
Ambience: 0
Shininess: 18
Color: #d5c0a7
Angle: 315
Intensity: 64
Elevation: 30
OK
3.  Now The Wreath
  New Image: 450x450
wreath.pspimage

Active Image: twig

Edit/ Copy [Ctrl+C]

Active Image: wreath
Edit/ Paste/ Paste As New Layer [Ctrl+L]

Effects/ Plugins/ MuRa's Meister/ Copies

Play with the first 4 settings until you have a pleasing shape

Layers/ Duplicate
Image/ Mirror/ [Ctrl+M]

Layers/ Merge/ Merge Visible

Export as a Picture Tube for use later

Decorate your wreath
