Easy Lace Strip

This tutorial was done with PSP9    
but could be done with other versions.

This tutorial was written following the steps I used to make my graphic.   

 

YOU WILL NEED

Paint Shop Pro -  Download a trial version 
 Super Blade Pro - Download a trial version 
GV-Pleated Cottom blade pro preset

Flower Preset Shape

I used flower 6 from Shapes 01 which came with PSP 7.  If you don't have it you can download it here


Basic knowledge of vectors and layers  

Remember to SaveOften
STEPS - These are the steps I used.

1.

Lets Begin

New Image New image 600x150
File/Save As: lacy flower border.pspimage

2.

 I wanted a colored background so flooded with :#77a17d

  New Layer: ring

Foreground Color:#ffffff
Background Color:#ffffff

Preset Shape Tool [P]
Shape: Ellipse
Retain Style: NOT Checked
Create as vector: NOT Checked
Anti-alias: Checked

Line style: +Solid
Width: 1.00

Place the cursor at 249x24
Hold down the Shift Key and drag the circle to 350x125
3. The Ring
   Layers/ Duplicate

Turn off copy of Raster 2 for now

Active Layer: Raster 2

Selections/ Select All [Ctrl+A]
Selections/ Float [Ctrl+F]
Selections/ Defloat [Ctrl+Shift+F]

Selections/ Modify/ Contract
Number of pixels: 2
Tap the Del Key

Selections/ Select None [Ctrl+D]

Effects/ 3D Effects/ Inner Bevel
4. The Net 
   Active Layer: Copy of Raster 1
Turn the view back on

Selections/ Select All [Ctrl+A]
Selections/ Float [Ctrl+F]
Selections/ Defloat [Ctrl+Shift+F]

Effects/ Texture Effects/ Tiles

Magic Wand Tool
Mode: Replace
Match mode: RGB Value
Tolerance: 0
Sample merged: NOT Checked
Contiguous: NOT Checked
Feather: 0
Anti-alias: Checked: Outside

Click on any black line
Selections/ Invert [Ctrl+Shift+I]
Tap the Del Key

Adjust/ Color Balance/ Negative Image
5. Flowers 
  New Raster Layer

Preset Shape Tool [P]
Shape: Flower 6
Retain Style: NOT Checked
Create as vector: NOT Checked
Anti-alias: Checked

Line style: +Solid
Width: 1.00

Add some flowers
6.  That Lacy Look
  Turn off the background layer
Layers/ Merge/ Merge Visible

Selections/ Select All [Ctrl+A]
Selections/ Float [Ctrl+F]

Effects/ Plugins/ Flaming Pear/ Super Blade Pro
GV-PleatedCotton
7. Make it a strip 
  Effects/ Plugins/ MuRa's Meister/ copies


You now have a piece of seamless lace
