This tutorial was done with PSP9   
but could be done with other versions.

All of my tutorials are written following the steps I used to make my graphic.   
It is my hope that you will take what I provide 
and do your own thing with it. 

 
YOU WILL NEED
Paint Shop Pro -  Download a trial version 

 Need dsb flux - Download

Basic knowledge of vectors and layers

 

Remember to SaveOften
STEPS - These are the steps I used.


Drag the arrow to mark your place

1.  Lets Begin

New Image: 600x600
File/Save As: grahamcracker.pspimage
Foreground Color: #d3ac5f 
Background Color: #e9c275

New vector layer: cracker
Rectangle Tool [G]
Mode: Draw Rectangle
Show Nodes: checked
Create On Vector: Checked
Draw out a rectangle
Width: 292
Height: 132

Objects/ Align/ Center In Canvas
Objects/ Convert to Path

2.  The Lines
Pen Tool
Mode: Edit

Add 8 new nodes 

Click Apply

Hold down the Ctrl Key and click on one of the corner nodes
When you see the word Merge click again 

Repeat for the remaining three corners
You should now have slightly rounded corners
3.  The Lines
New Vector Layer: lines

View/ Rulers
View/ Guides

To place a horizontal guide, click the top ruler and drag a guide to the desired position.
To place a vertical guide, click the left ruler and drag a guide to the desired position

Right Click the guide handle on the ruler to display the Guide Properties dialog, type in a new Guide position value, and click OK.

Set one vertical at 300 and one horizontal at 300

Foreground Color: #b87a38
Background Style: Null

Pen Tool [V]
Mode: Draw Lines and Polylines
Connect Segments: NOT Checked
Line style: Small Dash
Line width: 1.00

New Vector Layer: lines

Draw two lines using the guides for placement
Click Apply

View/ Guides [to turn off the guides for now]
4. The Holes 
Make The Holes
New Vector Layer: holes

Foreground Style: Null
Background Style: Fading Foreground

Ellipse Tool [Q]

Mode: Draw Circle
Show Nodes: Checked
Create On Vector: Checked

Hold down the Shift Key and draw out a tiny ellipse

View/ Grid [Ctrl+Alt+G]
View/ Change Grid, Guide & Snap Properties

OK

Object Selection Tool [O]

Click on the ellipse you just made
Right Click/ Copy [Ctrl+C]
Right Click/ Paste New Vector Selection [Ctrl+G]

Using the grid place ten more holes 

I found it easier to zooming for this part

Turn off the view of the cracker and holes layers

Object Selection Tool [O]
Draw out a rectangle selecting all of the holes
Right Click/ Group

Turn the layers back on

Right Click/ Copy [Ctrl+C]
Right Click/ Paste New Vector Selection [Ctrl+G]

Paste the group three more times

View/ Grid [Ctrl+Alt+G] [to turn off the grid]

We are now done vectoring
5.  Cracker Details
Layer/ Convert to Raster Layer
Repeat for each layer

Active Layer: cracker

Selections/ Select All [Ctrl+A]
Selections/ Float [Ctrl+F]
Selections/ Defloat [Ctrl+Shift+F]

Effects/ Plug-ins/ dsb flux
Bright Noise
OK

Keep selected

Effects/ #D Effects/ Buttonize
[buttonize]

Selections/ Select None [Ctrl+D]
6.  Hole Details
Active Layer: holes
Layers/ Duplicate

Drag this layer below the hole layer

Magic Wand
Click on any blank space
Selections/ Invert [Ctrl+Shift+I]

Selections/ Modify/ Expand
Number of pixels: 3
OK

Effects/ 3D Effects/ Cutout

Selections/ Select None [Ctrl+D]
Adjust/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur
Radius: 5.00

Active Layer: holes
Layers/ Duplicate

Drag this layer below the hole layer

Effects/ 3D Effects/ Drop Shadow


7.  Lines Detail
Active Layer: lines

Layers/ Duplicate

Drag this layer below the lines layer

Magic Wand
Click on any blank space
Selections/ Invert [Ctrl+Shift+I]
