This tutorial was done with PSP9
but could be done with other versions.

All of my tutorials are written following the steps I used to make my graphic.
It is my hope that you will take what I provide
and do your own thing with it.

YOU WILL NEED

Paint Shop Pro -  Download a trial version
Basic knowledge of vectors and layers

STEPS - These are the steps I used.

Drag the arrow to mark your place

1.

Lets Begin

New Image 600x600 [We need room to play]
File/Save As: Flowers.pspimage
Foreground Color: #f07d3e
Background Color: #ff935f

View/ Grid
View/ Change Grid, Guide & Snap Properties

2.

 The Stellated Shape

  Symmetric Shape Tool [H]
Located in the Tools toolbar, grouped with the Rectangle, Ellipse, and Preset Shape tools.

Select Draw Stellated
Show Nodes: Checked
Create On Vector: Checked

Number of sides: 11
Radius: 38.00
Round Inner: NOT Checked
Round Outer: NOT Checked

I used the center block to work in but needed the rest for node movement

New Vector Layer
I used a new vector layer for each turning off all but the current one

First I just drew shapes seeing what happened when I changed only the radius

Next I Checked Round Inner only and played again changing the radius as before

Next I Checked Round Outer only

Finally I checked both

3. The Polygon Shape
  Select Draw Polygon
Show Nodes: Checked
Create On Vector: Checked

Number of sides: 9
Round Outer: NOT Checked

Draw a shape

This is where the extra room comes in handy

Objects/ Align/ Center in Canvas
this step is not necessary but sure helps later when using multiple layers I just automatically do it, and these are the steps I used

Mode: Edit

Notice there is only one node
Click on it [Ctrl+1] then [Ctrl+2]
I don't know why but this makes the node arms and handles visible

If you go to Objects/ Convert to path you will see additional nodes that can be edited individually just like any other shape but then you have to edit each node separately

Play around moving the control arms

The screen shots show how I moved the nodes.

4. Make A Flower
Start with a nine sided Polygon

Objects/ Align/ Center in Canvas
